Emmi Billenius brings a lifelong interest in the environment to Biototal

Running a business that takes responsibility for both production and the environment requires expertise, structure, and a holistic approach. At Biototal, Emmi Billenius plays a key role in this effort. As an environmental analyst, she plays a central role in ensuring that projects comply with environmental legislation and contribute to the company’s vision of a circular future.

A role with a holistic perspective

Emmi will be part of the Environment and Research Team, which, among other things, works on the company’s project structure. The focus of Emmi’s role will be on Biototal’s various projects, where she will serve as a project coordinator of sorts, coordinating and monitoring all projects.

“I’ll be working as an environmental analyst, but with a slightly greater focus on the project side. So in addition to handling environmental issues such as notifications and permits, I’ll be coordinating projects and supporting project owners as needed,” Emmi explains.

A Natural Path to Biototal

For Emmi, choosing Biototal as an employer was an easy decision. During her studies in environmental science, she came into contact with the company and was immediately drawn to its core values.

 – For me, it’s important to work for a company that shares my values. Biototal’s work with the circular economy and resource management feels perfectly in tune with the times, and it’s something I really want to contribute to.

A Lifelong Interest in the Environment

Environmental issues have been a part of Emmi’s life for as long as she can remember. Her interest was sparked early on at home, when her parents sorted their trash and chose organic foods.

Over the years, her interest has grown as climate issues have become more urgent and visible. Her choice of degree program was therefore a natural one, as was her ambition to work at a company where she can make a difference.

“These are issues that are very close to my heart. Getting to work on sustainability in a real way, at a company that strives to make use of waste streams and create something positive for the environment, feels both important and motivating,” she says.

Circular Economy for the Future

For Emmi, the circular economy is not just a trend, but a necessity if the world is to achieve its climate goals.

“Biototal is a truly circular company. The fact that we can take materials that would otherwise have become waste and transform them into something that contributes to agriculture and food production is part of the solution. If we are to meet the climate challenge, the circular economy must play a much greater role in society,” says Emmi.

Emmi’s commitment, expertise, and strong drive to increase circularity are a major asset for Biototal’s continued journey.

Welcome to Biototal, Emmi!
